Everyday usability 17

Lately I recognized a error prone design in the interface of the elevator in our office building. For some reason the elevator doors close slowly so one nearly touches the “close door” button when using the elevator. However this might lead into a unintented situation. The button to call the service is placed between the buttons to “close door” and to “open door”.  It would be ok with a distinctive distance between those buttons however all three buttons are close to each other. The button for the service call has in fact a different background color but as I went to work still a bit sleepy in the morning it was not distinctive enough. I just oriented my hand to touch in the anticipated direction but fortuntally recogniced the slight mistake.
