Foldable car

A Korean university is working on solutions to efficiently handle the limited parking space that we have in big cities. With a foldable car the search for a parking slot would be eased as the car requires less space. The developed car in this project is an electric car. It can drive up to 60km an hour and over 100km with one charge.

It would be good if the foldable car has an integrated autonomous parking assistant. As the driver cannot sit in the folded car it somehow needs to get into the parking slot or maneuver out of it if it is already in a parking slot.

According to the project engineers the vehicle now does not fulfill all requirements for road travel. It is a nice idea but there are still many things in development and who knows maybe the next version has an autonomous parking assistant.

Find out about the project on the Korean universities project website.
